Coaching experience: My coaching career began in the 1994-95 season with Metro of Maryland, and I have been coaching ever since. Over 25 years, I have been a high school head coach, an assistant coach at the Division III NCAA level, and coaching boys and girls club volleyball teams of all ages.
Coaching Philosophy: My objective and the objective of everyone on my team should be to improve as a person, player and teammate. Win or lose, we will remain a team throughout. Compete hard and have fun.
Best Volleyball Moment: As a player: Going to nationals with a men’s A team. As a coach: Staying with the same group of players from 14s to 17s and watching them improve over the years.
My Life in Sports: Grew up playing multiple sports but didn’t start playing volleyball until I was in the Army.
When I’m not coaching volleyball… Family activities; cooking; playing volleyball; coaching my son’s soccer team; watching my son play other sports; watching the Caps; snowboarding.
