Her passion is helping athletes by combining her love for self-growth and sports. She played Division I volleyball as a Hokie at Virginia Tech. While there, she studied psychology, focusing on motivation and emotional intelligence. She went on to coach both Division II and Division III volleyball. For the past six years, she has guided our East Coast Power Athletes as the college placement specialist. She completed her doctorate at Eastern University in Marriage and Family Therapy and currently works as a therapist at The Peacemaker Center.
5-PHASE PROGRAM:
SESSION 1: HEALTHY HABITS AS A TOP-LEVEL ATHLETE
At ECP we love helping athlete’s reach their fullest potential. One of the principles we like to teach is for each athlete to take 100% responsibility for their growth while we support you each step of the way! This session will break down the necessary healthy habits to adopt in order to reach your goals. We will cover nutrition, time-management, fitness…and even off the court habits involving school and the social aspect of your life.
SESSION 2: PREPARING YOUR YEAR FOR THE RECRUITING PROCESS
For many athlete’s the recruiting process can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to! We got you covered. In this session we will paint a picture of what your recruiting process will look like in the club season and make a plan to be successful. We will cover how to make a list of schools you’re interested in, when to email, when to call, and even what to say. The more you have a plan for this process, the less stress you will feel…and you might even enjoy the process!
SESSION 3: MENTAL MAKEOVER-HOW TO PLAY WITH CONFIDENCE
One of the biggest things we hear about in sports is the desire to play with confidence. In this session we will take a look at your self-talk and how to step onto the court fully prepared to and primed to focus on positive images to keep you at your A-Game!
SESSION 4: WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH-HOW TO BE A RESILIENT ATHLETE
Every single athlete faces disappointments and setbacks. It’s inevitable. Since we can’t avoid it, we need to get a jump start talking about how to bounce back after a setback. This is a session about being proactive to plan for bumps in the road, so you can still reach your goals. Setbacks aren’t goal-crushers, they’re just opportunities to go back to the drawing board and clarify what you want, even if the process of getting there might look slightly different than the original plan.
SESSION 5: ACTING AS IF – HOW TO “FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT”
In this session we will be talking about a concept linked to creating success: Acting as if what you want is already happening. If you have a major goal in mind for the future, a way of getting there is to incorporate steps into your life as if it were already so. This means talking like, dressing like, thinking like the goal is already happening…and YOU’RE the person making it happen. In this session we will talk about steps you can start right away to “act as if” and visualize your success!
